My Next Piece’s Aura ~’’• 👰🏻‍♀️💐🪽 …

I am so excited to have finally completed my largest installation to date. It is very tempting for me to add more but I genuinely think there is nothing more to add. I am not trying to render myself penniless after all.

In all earnestness, it would be hard for me to live without craft. I think I am going to decorate some printed self-portraits with a floral frame.

This video from China provided as a main inspiration for my work. I desired to make something truly monumental.

I have been speaking of my two large-scale paper ills for eons and eons. Due to their scale, I am finding it hard to find a place where I can photograph them.
Anyways, I have veered off topic.

This dress was certified as a New Guinness World Record ( well, in 2013 give or take ). This marital frock was designed by the outstanding Cai Meiyue. At a whopping 2,599 metres , I no can only imagine how beautiful the bride felt - I know I feel rather gorgeous in long dresses, personally speaking.

Since I was young girl, I was fascinated by the prospect of a wedding. I am aromatic and asexual in fact, so I could never participate in that of matrimony, at least in the traditional sense. That being said, the theatricality and ceremony of weddings dually eludes and excites me.

I am going to link the video that I got these GIFS from below. I wonder what compels people to make large-scale works of art. This is something I could use as a journal exercise, I should do my best to outline the intentions for my work.

In the midst of creating these large-scale installations, I am remembering to practice gratitude and exercise all of my creative faculties to manifest beauty in to the world. I hope to make myself and others feel happy through the act of creation.

In both of my large-scale paper dolls, I have added rose petals and dozens of fake flowers onto the bodies of my self-portrait. Flowers hold a special place in my heart - they are these universal symbols of beauty, grace and the natural world. Traditionally, flowers have been a motif for femininity, but I think everyone can like flowers.

One of my paper dolls in response to viewing this video has generated that of a long train herself. That being said, I do not have the funds to create a train which is 2,599 metres long. Mine is about 50 metres long in totality, which is still extremely lengthy. My train is made up of multiple colours, instead of the traditional marital white. Pink, red, yellow, blue and purple create the train.

Indeed, you may think my obsession with wedding dresses and gargantuan, cupcake-style, princess-y gowns is juvenile or tacky. Honestly ? You might be right. However, I advocate for everyone to find a subject in this world they are passionate about and what to act upon.

For me, this is craft. I am in love with making artworks.

I cannot wait to firstly find a place to photograph my large artworks, and I cannot wait to show them to the world. What an exciting prospect !

Earnest. Crafty. Maximalist. Colourful.

Art keeps me going.

The Rainbow Body ..

Good Afternoon !!

I have decided to use this blog, not only to create long-form essays on art but to also share smaller updates on my life.

Blogs provide a communal and aesthetically pleasing way to track progress - I shall take full advantage of this medium and show you my phone.

Indeed, I desired an ( even more ) decorative interface on my phone, whilst maintaining utility. Prior to this blog, I had shown you my home screens. Since then, there has been imperative changes:

1. I only use one page on my Home Screen now. In the past, I had bloated digital junctions. This is rather embarrassing, but I used to have a 10-page Home Screen, taking a large amount of time to modify widgets for each app I had. Unfortunately, this was a massive time sink as well as an intricate mishap. Decisively, I cut down my Home Screen to one page, so my most frequently used apps are emphasised. I do not have many apps at all - but Eventbrite did not need to be on my Home Screen.

2. I am awfully sensitive to that of crude language. Most apps have stupid names. I decided to rename my apps using Shortcuts to phrases which are harmonious with my artistic vision. I utilise cyberspace to craft mnemonic anchors which give me motivation to work. The names of “Instagram” or “Snapseed” feel juvenile and “punny”. Not my language.

3. My Lock Screen has changed. I changed it to an artistic portrait of myself. The conventional societal consensus around having your face as your Lock Screen i one of self-conceit and vanity. I digress, this is an erroneous assumption. My body is a rightful canvas I can modify at my heart’s desire. Power is to be found within this notion. We are always told to not take our appearance “too seriously”, some may even say dressing in an unconventional fashion is “vain” because that is not what matter. This mindset acts as a prohibition upon beauty and original thought. Take your appearance seriously.

4. I made alterations to my widget board. When you swipe left onto the iPhone you can adjust what you want visible. I used to have a hodge-podge of miscellaneous widgets I was not using effectively. Instead, I now have a Spotify, Pinterest and Photos widget. Partly to remember times of strength by way of y photos, and partly to be imbued with aesthetic and aural inspiration by way of Spotify and Pinterest, respectively.

Here is my new screen :

I have had a very productive Sunday thus far. Usually, I rest on Saturday - school tires me out on occasion, both cognitively and physically. One must find space to recuperate.

Speaking of recuperation, I hope you extract value out of your day today. I am wishing you peace.

Have a good day. I am offering you love and warmth.

Bye bye !!

I genuinely and actually do not know what to do.

Not exactly … I know what I need to do.

03 / 04 / 2023 ~``• Mayakovsky …

Frank O’ Hara’s words reverberate in my head to this day. At this very moment I evaluate the catastrophe of my personality, and at this very moment - I make this vow to make something of my life.

I cannot ever write a succinct blog post. The short-formst blog posts somewhat upset me. Instead of keeping my points simple, I like writing out text like this. For a variation in composition.

Let us not hurt ourselves.

Let us live and love.

We will craft our own garden.

Art Is To Be Shared - 👯‍♀️🌈🩷🪷 …

I hope you have all had a loving day.

I have created many self-portraits across the years. From ostentatious paper dolls to digital animations my likeness has become a ubiquitous subject in my artistic practice.

Recently, I have found myself against a wall. Wondering how a once enjoyable endeavour has morphed into an iterative nightmare. Once you make a handful of works with the same subject matter, they become this cognitive blur.

It has been hard for me to find the motivation to consolidate some of my largest projects to date. These are still under progress, still needing to be finished.

Depsite my creative malaise, this is one of the works of art which has made me the happiest in recent history. It is adorable, heartfelt, earnest and beautiful.

This is everything I want to exemplify in my own practice.

Jacqui, thank you for this loving doodle. You will be the best in your field, and an eternally blessed companion. I love you.

YOU will always be famous.
